A career in local government as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse is a promising one with various roles and opportunities available.

Entry is at postgraduate level following completion of a course in Child and Family Health that leads to recognition of qualifications in Maternal and Child Health Nursing by the Nurses Board of Victoria.
Councils provide different types and levels of support to recent graduates to consolidate practice, such as mentor programs and supported orientation programs.
